Clean Water Wells

A site was chosen for two wells and digging began in February, 2010.   People in the villages had to walk a mile to haul rocks in buckets to use for the casting of the well.  One village sent 21 men to carry bags of cement, each weighing 100 lbs. each!  Each of the villages housed and fed the well diggers.
Two wells are now a reality in two Liberian villages!  It is so great to see the end result of this project and know that with others' continued support of Jordan's Wishing Well, more clean water will be a reality for so many people!

This photo makes me think how many times I take for granted going to the sink to get a glass of water.

Here is a former water source for one of the Liberian villages near the Camphor Mission Station.

The site of one of the first two clean-water wells to be built with funds from Jordan's Wishing Well!

The villagers are able to dig a well using the resources purchased with the funds.

The finished product!
The most exciting picture to see:  water coming out of the well!
